FIC and SecFin Africa Project conclude a five-day training on terrorist financing and targeted financial sanctions
The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), in partnership with the SecFin Africa Project, successfully concludes the first batch of training focused on countering terrorism, terrorist financing, and implementing related targeted financial sanctions.
This training which began on Monday, October 20th, 2025, aimed at strengthening participants’ skills and knowledge in line with international AML/CFT standards. It also sought to enhance institutional coordination to proactively identify, investigate, and prosecute financial crimes and terrorist financing, as well as recover illicit assets.
A total of 50 participants attended the training, representing key institutions including the National Bank of Rwanda, Rwanda Governance Board, Capital Market Authority, FIC, financial institutions, insurance and securities companies, money remittance service providers, and non-profit organisations.
