FIC ORGANISED A WORKSHOP FOR REAL ESTATE BROKERS ON THEIR AML/CFT AND CFP OBLIGATIONS

Kigali May 18, 2022, Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) held a one-day Workshop for Real Estate Brokers on their obligations towards Anti-Money laundering (AML), Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Counter Financing of Proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (CFP) and related crimes. The Workshop brought together  members of Rwanda Association of Real Estate Brokers (RWAREB).

On behalf of Director General, Jean Bosco MURENZI, the Head of Compliance and  Prevention department  at FIC warmly welcomed the participants and commended their presence in the workshop. He informed them that they will play a great role in helping FIC achieve its mission and vision.  

Rwanda has embarked in journey of making Kigali a Financial Hub. To attain this, there should be a solid and well protected financial and designated non-financial systems compliant with AML/CFT and CFP international standards; and the role of Real Estate agents/brokers is of a paramount importance in ensuring that their services are well protected from criminal abuse.
